Name: Rowan Cartwright
Nickname: The Wolf of the West, The Rabid Wolf, Rowan the Cutter
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Height: 6'5
Weight: 250lbs
Nationality: Equestrian
Occupation: Knight, a sworn sword under the New Lunar Empire
Allegiance: The New Lunar Empire
Marital Status: Formerly married, currently single
Hair: Long and black hair with a small black beard.
Eyes: A crystal blue
Living Relatives: Saxton Cartwright (Younger Brother), Gregor Cartwright (Father)
Flight or Magic: Neither
General Description: While Ser Rowan isn't the tallest man to grace Queen Luna's forces, he is certainly an intimidating figure. He is well built with broad shoulders and a toned muscular frame. His face is grizzled, and his eyes are cold, with little sympathy behind them. He is more often than not seen in his hardened steel plate armor, with a weathered black cloak, and a full faced helm. Strapped to his back, is a rather scary looking two handed claymore sword.
Skills: Ser Rowan is a man of simple talents. He may not be the swiftest, the most creative, nor the most clever, though he is one of the most talented killers around. Being trained from a young age, Ser Rowan is an absolutely ferocious combatant. He is well versed in brutal hand to hand combat techniques, preferring heavy strikes and grapples. It is said that if you gave the Wolf of the West a weapon, he could generally use it to kill most soldiers with great success, though he is most comfortable wielding a massive steel claymore.
Faults: While it is true that Ser Rowan is a gifted killer, he is not the ideal choice to do much else. He lacks in diplomatic skill, and while not a complete fool, he can hardly be considered a genius. Taking after his father, Rowan is fairly cruel when he wishes to be, and generally lacks empathy for others. He can be fairly hot blooded when provoked, though he can more often than not spin this to his advantage when on the battlefield.
History: For generations, Castle Cartwright has been under a veil of mystery. The familiar blue banner with a wolf sigil has guarded over the castle for nearly one hundred and fifty years. Lorded over by the Cartwright family, the current Lord Gregor Cartwright is a man of questionable standing. Many of the serfs under his rule would call him cruel, and he had unwillingly gained resentment by the ruling Queen Celestia. Gregor had always wanted a knight in the family, as the Cartwright's were one of the few minor houses that lacked such an honor. Due to their differing ideals, Queen Celestia would refuse to knight those under the Cartwright name. This infuriated Gregor to no end, and when the civil war began, he offered his loyalty and soldiers to Queen Luna under the condition that his eldest son be knighted when he came of age. Luna agreed to the arrangement, and the alliance was forged.
Rowan was the eldest son of Gregor, and as such, was destined for knighthood. From a very young age, Rowan was strictly molded by his father to be the best warrior he could possibly be. Rowan was seen more as an asset and a tool than as a son, and because of this, Rowan had little childhood to speak of. The young boy was drilled night and day; he was not allowed to spend time with other children, and was kept at a distance from his mother. His younger brother Saxton, had no such restrictions, and because of this, Rowan resented him. At the age of nine, Rowan slaughtered his first man in the form of his instructor; his father rewarded his action. As he grew, so did his temper, as Rowan grew fiercer and fiercer. At the age of sixteen, the teenage Rowan had lost his temper and physically beat a stable boy to death with his steel helmet. This earned him the nickname 'The Rabid Wolf'.
Two years later, as promised, Rowan was knighted by Queen Luna. The newly knighted Ser Rowan would spend the next few years fighting alongside the Lunar rebels against the Solar loyalists. The young knight's ferocity and unrelenting fury on the battlefield gained him a reputation amongst the Lunar and Solar soldiers alike. The Lunar soldiers would call him "The Wolf of the West", while the Solar soldiers simply knew him as "Rowan the Cutter", and for good reason. There were very few that could stand before the blood crazed knight.
At the age of twenty two, a chilling rumor reached the ear of Rowan. Whispers around Castle Cartwright suggested that his father Gregor had murdered his mother, lady Cartwright. While these were simply rumors, it was more than enough to cause Saxton Cartwright to flee home for the Solar Empire. This infuriated Gregor, and Rowan had since recieved orders from his father to hunt down and behead Saxton. This was a request that Rowan would happily carry out, should he be fortunate enough to cross paths with his dear brother again.
Rowan would eventually marry at the age of twenty four, though his marriage would not last. A mere year later, Ser Rowan's wife would mysteriously disappear. More than a few people have accused Ser Rowan of 'following in his father's footsteps', though nothing has been proven.
