General Description: Ser Tribunus Stonewall is a fairly handsome man, with the appearance of a man much younger than he truly is. His cheekbones are pronounced, and his chin is rather defined, and he keeps his face clean shaven. He keeps his golden hair at shoulder length. When not on the battlefield, Tribunus typically wears the white robes of the Church. As is standard issue in his order, Tribunus wears golden plate armor with a red cloak into battle. Tribunus is in fantastic physical shape for his age.
Skills: The Nine Fingered Knight, as is required for a Golden Knight, is a very talented fighter. He is skilled in the use of a Greatsword, a longsword and shield, and a crossbow. He is well read in world history, languages and the Church's scripture. A perk of being a Golden Knight, is that Tribunus was instructed in a multitude of defensive spells that would protect him from demons and black magic. For example, it is impossible for a demon to possess Ser Tribunus, he can protect his mind from mind readers, and more easily see through illusions.
Faults: Though he is still a skilled swordsman, Tribunus is long past his physical prime. The years and several injuries have slowed him down. While fighting an upstart cult, Tribubus took a crossbow bolt to his right knee, an injury that still hinders him to this day. On top of this, Tribunus' unwavering faith in the Church has gotten him into trouble in the past. He often believes that he is divinely protected by Celestia, and sometimes lowers his guard when he shouldn't.
History: Tribunus Stonewall grew up in a small village in a united Equestria. His father and older brother were both Military men, and as such it was only natural that Tribunus would look to follow in their footsteps. At the tender age of sixteen, he signed up as a trainee for the Equestrian Military. This was eighteen years before the civil war broke out, so back then the military wasn't the absolute necessity it is today. Tribunus never dreamed of a life of glory; he imagined that his career would top out at Sergeant, maybe Lieutenant, before he would retire many years later. Fate had a different plan for the young lad. As it turned out, Tribunus excelled greatly passed his fellow trainees, matching and even surpassing trainees several years older than him. When the monthly review came around, Tribunus was ranked #1 in his squad, and as such was promoted to Squad Leader. This was a tremendous honor for him, as neither his father or brother were able to make Squad Leader. He was so quick witted and decisive when leading his men, that talk started to surface of Tribunus being promoted to Corporal upon graduation, a very rare honor. Unfortunately fate has a funny way of turning a blessing into a curse. The young man let his success get to his head.
For the final test before graduation, war games were held. Squads would be pitted against each other with wooden weapons, and Tribunus was determined to lead his squad to victory. In a reckless and daring plan, Tribunus ordered his squad to climb an un sturdy cliffside, in an attempt to get around the opposing squads flank. This order caused a freak rock slide, leading to the deaths of three Trainees and the permanent crippling of one more. This earned Tribunus a dishonorable discharge from the Military, and as punishment, he would spend the next two years in the dungeon, and have his left ring finger chopped off.
Two years came and went, and the now eighteen year old Tribunus was fee once again. He managed to make a meager living as a stable boy, though the guilt continued to gnaw at him. One night, Tribunus made his way to a cliff near a lake, indenting to kill himself. He was stopped by an initiate of the Church of Celestia, who was gathering water in a nearby well. The two talked until the sun came up, as Tribunus explained his story in great detail, and his guilt. The Initiate assured him that his sins could be forgiven, if he pledged his service to the church. Tribunus did just that, and became an Initiate in the Church of Celestia.
Three years would pass, and Tribunus would come to love the life he had made for himself. Because of his history in the Military, the Church promoted the young man to Warrior Priest. Several peaceful years go by, until one faithful day, when the Church finally had need to field an army. A cult worshiping a Demon had burnt down a small village, and made off before the army could deal out justice. The Church caught wind of where this cult was located, and sent its warriors after the heathens, Tribunus among them.
The battle was fierce, as the cult was much better equipped than initially estimated. The Cult Leader, who had allowed the demon to take control of his body, was an absolute terror on the battlefield. Nearly a dozen men were cut down by the Cult Leader before Tribunus had his chance to cross blades with him. It was this moment, that Tribunus would cement his legacy; after a drawn out swordfight, Tibunus finally struck the demon down. Before he could rest however, the Warrior priest was struck with a crossbow bolt in his right knee, taking him out of the rest of the battle.
His actions would not go unnoticed however, for when he was finally nursed back to fighting condition, Tribunus was inducted into the secretive Order of the Golden Knights. For the next nineteen years, Tribunus would prove himself as one of the finest warriors in the order, and climbed the ranks. His missions included various exorcisms, the slaughtering of small cults, and even doing battle with several demons.
