Greetings new members! In this thread, I will provide you with a character template that all new characters must adhere to. To create your own character, simply create a new thread in the 'New Characters' section, under 'New Members'. Note, if you wish to play a second character, you must create an entirely new account solely dedicated to that character.
(Note: Be sure to read the 'Rules for creating a character' thread.)
Name: (Must include full name) Luna Umbra Regium.
Nickname: (Optional)
Age: 221 years old. Being one of the two last surviving Alicorn, Luna is unable to die of old age, nor can she physically age past her prime.
Gender: Female.
Height: 5'7
Weight: 125lbs
Nationality: Equestrian.
Occupation: Queen of the New Lunar Empire, Empress of the Night and guardian of the Dreamscape.
Allegiance: The New Lunar Empire. (You must choose between the New Lunar Empire, the Solar Empire, or the Crystal Empire).
Marital Status: Single.
Hair: A flowing midnight blue, with lights that shine like the stars themselves. Likely of magical origin.
Eyes: Blue.
Living Relatives: Princess Celestia (Sister).
Flight or Magic: Both. (As humanized characters, you must choose between flight (Pegasus), magic (Unicorn), or none (Regular human). Note that Celestia and Luna are the only two permitted to choose 'both'.)
General Description: Queen Luna is often seen wearing a generals uniform, traditionally worn by men, with a cloak and her black crown. At her side, she typically carries an intricate, masterly crafted rapier. Her skin is fair, albeit a bit pale, and she always holds herself with a straightened posture. Queen Luna is rarely ever seen in formal wear, though when she is, she would typically wear a midnight blue gown.
Skills: Queen Luna is proficient in many forms of magic, such as offensive and defensive combat spells, and illusions. She can teleport short distances, create force fields, read the minds of weak minded individuals, fly, manipulate shadows and take the form of clouds and mist. On top of her magical abilities, Queen Luna is also a skilled swordsman, preferring a more elegant fencing style of combat. Luna is known far and wide as a master strategist, and has proven herself as a battlefield general. Queen Luna possesses the ability to raise the moon, and even draw power from it in times of great need. As the guardian of the dream realm, Luna can traverse through other peoples dreams, though she can be pushed out by people of strong mental fortitude.
Faults: Queen Luna is considered hot tempered by some of her subjects, and can crack under pressure if sufficiently frustrated. She can also be too quick to claim victory, getting over confident before a conflict is truly won. In terms of the physical, Queen Luna tends not to acknowledge when she has met her match. Being raised as a proud warrior Princess, she will often bite off more than she can chew, and come back for more. Queen Luna has been known to dabble in dark magic, though she knows little of how to protect herself from it's negative effects.
History: Luna Umbra Regium was born the youngest daughter of King Orion and Queen Galaxya of Equestria. Being born nearly twelve years after their eldest daughter Celestia, Princess Luna was considered both a blessing, and an inconvenience. King Orion had hoped that Luna would be born a son, and was adamant in treating her as one. While Celestia focused on diplomacy and magic, Luna was being trained in the art of strategy and combat at a very young age. Unlike her sister, Luna resented her father. She disliked being dragged into the early morning combat training sessions, and thought that her teachings on strategy were a bore. Nevertheless, her training would pay off, as Luna quickly gained the reputation of a fierce warrior. At the young age of thirteen, both King Orion and Queen Galaxya would meet their ends. As she was not yet old enough to assume the throne, Luna's elder sister Celestia rose to power over the nation, and quickly became loved by her subjects. As she grew, Luna would get increasingly envious of her sister's admiration.
Since she was still too young to partake in any royal duties, Luna would spend her time honing her combat skills and delving into studies of magic. It wasn't until she turned sixteen that Luna discovered that she possessed the ability to enter peoples dreams, an ability that her father once possessed. She would spend her nights guarding over the dreams of young children. Once Luna turned eighteen, she was finally ready to join her sister's side in ruling Equestria. She was assigned the task of watching over the night, and raising the moon with her magical abilities.
For nearly two hundred years, Luna ruled alongside her sister, their combined efforts leading Equestria into a new golden era. Together, they raised Equestria into a superpower, rivaling that of the great Crystal Empire, and Saddle Arabia to the east. They even managed to defeat Discord, the legendary god of chaos.
However all things must eventually come to an end. As time went on, Luna couldn't help but notice that their subjects clearly favored Celestia, many calling her 'the true Queen of Equestria'. While Celestia would constantly assure Luna that they were equals, this did little to sway the younger monarch. A great many people even began to worship Celestia as the patron goddess of the sun, forming an entire religion around the Princess. While Celestia had publicly denied her godhood, she had also explained that people are free to worship whatever, or whoever, they wanted to. This angered Luna greatly.
This anger created a rift between the once unified monarchy. Luna began to realize that she and her sister had many different ways of ruling. Once she finally had enough, Luna proposed the idea of splitting Equestria into two nations, one under the rule of Queen Celestia and one under the rule of Queen Luna. Celestia opposed this proposition fiercely, declaring that splitting the nation would only serve to weaken the country as a whole. Angered once more, Luna declared open secession from Equestria, claiming the western coast as her own, under the new title of 'The New Lunar Empire'.
Neither sister desired war with the other, though the followers of Celestia demanded that their land be taken back, and the followers of Luna demanded independence. War was inevitable.
Now the war has raged on for nine long years, and neither side has gained much ground. Queen Luna, though once considered a revolutionary, had slowly began to show signs of corruption and greed.
