[Enter Cen]
Cen walked out into the garden slowly and quietly. The guards out here all either carried a crossbow or a longsword. He had a good view of the throne room windows just off in the distance. It was a good location. He looked for a guard.

To Cen's good fortune, there was a Celestial Crossbowman leaning against a wall in a dark corner, with shrubs on either end. it was a corridor-like area, but with shrubs on each side instead of stone.
The guard didn't pay much attention to Cen, seeing as he was one of their own, in a sense. The guard gave Cen a small, friendly wave.

Walking over to the guard, Cen offered a friendly wave. With a flash of steel, Cen drew his sword and quickly plunged it into the unsuspecting guards throat. Cen looked into the guards eyes, lacking any empathy whatsoever.

The guard was absolutely shocked by the attack, and wasn't even able to lift his crossbow in time, little alone call for help. He collapsed, dropping the crossbow and clutching at his throat.
He gargled and thrashed around on the ground before curling into a fetal position and dying right then and there.

Cen wiped the blood off himself using a piece of the guards clothing. He then pried out one of the jewels from the jewel-encrusted sword. A black jewel. Cen bends over, picks up the crossbow, removes the arrow, and slides on the specially made Black jewel; which had a hole through the center of it. He tied a rope behind it to endure it wouldn't fly off, and set the arrow back into the crossbow. He sheathed his sword and walked around the corner, acting as if everything was fine. That was the key to espionage.
Cen found a good vantage point and raised his crossbow to one of the many stain-glass windows belonging to the throneroom. He took a deep breath, aimed, and loosed.
The arrow went hissing before a loud 'CRASH' could be heard. While all the guards were looking up at the window to see what happened, Cen dropped the crossbow and snuck out back into the palace hallway.

[Enter Corvus]
Stepping over to the nearest Provost officer, Corvus asked what was going on. Corvus was horrified to learn that there had been a murder of a guard. There were no witnesses, however, the guard's crossbow was located away from the body, discharged with a bolt missing from the quiver. Corvus was told they though at first that the guard had shot the murderer since the bolt was missing. But from where the crossbow was found, a shattered window was able to be seen. That window was in the Throne Room, where the breech had happened.
When the arrows from the Royal Guards in the throne room were all picked up, a crossbow bolt with rope on it was discovered and believed to have been shot by the murderer.
Corvus informed the officer of his own investigation, and when he learned that the time frames matched, he frowned with anger. The two cases were connected. Corvus requested a supplemental report from the Palace Royal Guard be sent to him at Montfort, including the results of the autopsy of the victim, the details of the breech, and the statements of all the gate guards as to who entered the Palace.
After telling the officer he may have a suspect, Corvus headed back into the main hallway to go tot he barracks.
[Exit Corvus]
