After about two more beers after that, Steve said his goodbyes as he headed out of waterhole slightly intoxicated. It seemed like the whole world around him was nonexisting to him when he passed by building after building, human after human without even giving them any form of acknowledgment. Because right now, after a long time of thinking and drinking, he knew what he was going to do.

[Enter Corvus]
Shield raised and sword at the ready, Corvus stopped once the shadows of the alley flowed over his uniform's black and royal blue armor.
He was still and silent, watching out into the depths of the alley while he waited for his vision to adjust to the dim light. He listened very carefully, standing by for the Private to make it to the far side of the alleyway.

Further down the alleyway, Corvus could see a woman, lying face down, covered in blood. She was still alive, and let out a small groan.
"Pl---please.... help..." She weakly called out.

He waited much longer than was needed for Cen to simply make it around the block.
With a frown, he mentally counted Cen out of the equation. Stepping forward, he began to slowly approach the female. He paid her little mind, instead looking about for the person or persons how did this. His gaze traveled up the walls, and around objects in the alley. Methodically he moved, with a tactical measure in his every motion.
When he was close enough to speak without shouting to her, he said, "Royal Provost, you will be all right. Are the ones who hurt you still here?"

"I...I don't know...please help me! I-I can't feel my legs!" She replied.
Her voice was wavering and it seemed as though most of her strength had gone into responding to him. Though it is fairly hard to get any details from a distance, it would be wise to say that she was severely injured.

"Stay still, you will be all right. I am not leaving you alone."
He looked down at her briefly to assess what he could of her injuries by sight, then began to back out of the alley very quickly. He did not hear or see any signs of the attackers, but that did not mean there was no danger. Plus, Cen may have encountered the attackers as he circled the block and was in need of assistance. Once he got the victim to safety, he had to find Cen.
Once at the opening of the alley, he sheathed his sword and took out a special police-whistle, which he blew on three times loudly.
This special whistle was enchanted, and would be heard by all lawmen in the 1/2 mile area who also carried similarly issued magic whistles. The responding whistles would guide the users to the location the blown whistle was. However, unless there were Provost or local lawmen patrolling within the range, it did no good.
That done, he shouldered his shield and returned to the female, kneeling down beside her, "Where are you hurt, and how did they hurt you? With their hands or with a weapon?"
He kept an eye out still for whatever may come from the shadows further down the alley, as well as looking at the victim.

several sets of footsteps could be heard both behind and ahead of Corvus in the alley -- but after the whistle was blown, they all bolted. There were about 7 men in total who were now fleeing from both ends of the alleyway.
"Shit." The woman cursed before scrambling to her feet and sprinting down the alleyway; seemingly unhurt.

He frowned deeply and attempted to seize the woman he had returned to help. He was unusually fast on the short-sprint for a man in armor. But if could not catch her in that short burst, he would retreat out of the alley. He would not go deeper where the ambush may have been reformed. Chasing her may well be what they wanted as a sort of Plan B.

The woman ran, however she wasn't unusually fast. She seemed underfed and a bit rough. Corvus would most likely be able to catch her, if he wanted. A few officers outside could be heard chasing down some of the ambushers.

With the knowledge that other lawmen were about, he elected to pursue the bait of the trap. He did give chase, holding his fast sprint as long as he could, and bellowed, "ROYAL PROVOST! Stop in the Name of the Queen!"
If he did catch up, he would grab her and take her down hard face first, using his heavy armor to that advantage in pinning her. He would then immediately take hold of her wrists and control them, in case she was armed.

The bait let out a yell as she slammed into the ground and pinned. A most likely stolen Military knife slid out from her coat pocket onto the grimy cobblestone.
"Fuck, fine! Fine!" She shouts out before spitting some blood out to the side.
"You got me -- heavy motherfucker." She grumbles, defeated.

Corvus said nothing, and quickly produced wrist cuffs from his patrol bag. He looked up and around often to be sure none of her accomplices were going to try and aid in her escape.
Once he had her secured, he reached out and picked up the knife, tucking it away into his belt before standing. He reached down an armored hand and picked her up, helping her to her feet. Quickly he marched her out of the alley, and looked for the nearest lawman to leave her with.
He needed to go see what had happened to Cen.

She let out several grunts and attempted to escape a few times.
"Lay off me, man! I tripped and scraped my fucking knee! There's no law against that, man! Attica! Attica man, Attica man! " She shouts out in rebellion, making a scene and referencing Celestia knows what.
Unfortunately the nearest lawman and police went after the fleeing suspects, leaving him with her.

He gripped her arm tightly, speaking quietly, "You are under arrest for Obstructing Justice by fleeing an officer of the Law. If you resist or attempt escape again, I will render you unable to move, and you will be carried or dragged in an uncomfortable manner."
Looking around, he frowned, seeing no one. He turned and looked off in the distance, in the direction of the nearest local law enforcement post.

"Go suck a campfire, man!" The woman shouts out, stopping and kicking back against Corvus's shins with her feet; trying to escape yet again.
